Pilot Survey

Back not long ago from doing the pilot survey at Yio Chu Kang sports complex. Left about 12.30 with 3 others and Mr Tan.

I was allocated to the sports hall and the rest went to the other places like gym, stadium and swimming pool. We all supposed to complete 8 surveys and we were given about 2 hours.

Sounds easy, yah? But those surveys are not the short ones. They were about 4 pages long and we have to do interviews personally and not asked them to fill them up themselves.

When I entered the sports hall with Mr Tan it was kinda scary because there were like more than 10 Malay man playing badminton and including those sitting around to rest. They too look kinda unfriendly and fierce so I said to myself oh no, I am going to have a tough time approaching them. And yah, it made things better when Mr Tan said "Wah.. all uncles here. You better be careful and will I come back to check on you more often..."

But things was not so bad after all. I approached some who were resting and they agreed helping me out except for a few that didn't want to do the survey.

Then later in the afternoon, approached this chinese uncle and he refused to do the survey but ask me to ask another uncle playing badminton.

Haha that uncle was interesting and cute! He turned around, looked at me and gestured to me to wait. Then the other uncle beside me was like "Come now lah, help her with a survey." He relunctantly stopped playing and came towards me and speak to me in a faster-please-i-want-to-continue-with-my-game tone.

Throughout the survey he was quick with his answers and I knew he wanted very much to go back to the game. Of course, I briefly ask him questions and quickly went through it. Then came the part when I needed to know how old was him. He asked me to guess and I said "50 plus..?" I was wrong! He told me 70+. Wow.. he sure looks young and energetic for his age. Haha.. a real cute and friendly uncle.

About 2 hours +++ to go....... to go HOME.
